Nite Nite Sleep Tight!

Sometimes it just isn’t that easy…

Generally I am a fairly good sleeper. When the boys have a good night it’s bliss.

However, there are nights where so many thoughts and scenarios are going around my head which makes it more difficult to get to sleep. As a parent if your little one isn’t the reason for a sleepless night it can be really frustrating to say the least. The more you think about it, the more you hear the clock tick. The temptation to check the phone or jump on line is always there. Like the professionals say ‘blue light on smart phones or iPads‘ are the worst thing for a person who is already having trouble getting their head to rest. Or the lists of things to do the next day. The more you try to make mental reminders the more confusing the lists become. I’m sure I’m not alone…

Mummy’s tip of the day – (Or ‘tip of the night’ shall I say ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) If you are having trouble getting to sleep because ย your mind is going over things you need to remember. Have a note pad and a pen beside the bed and jot down the lists. Get all of your thoughts on paper and hopefully your mind can then rest. This is something I was recommend to do and I have to say it has helped me. Everyone has a night here or there that’s a challenge, try relax and hopefully the next thing you know is morning!

One Week Til Mr Hop Hop Arrives!

Yippeeeee, nearly another long weekend, EASTER!

Easter for our family is a lovely time. We spend quality time together, the kiddies love being with their Gran Parents, cousins, aunties and uncles. We have fun enjoying each others company.

Chocolate in our house doesn’t last long. Unless I hide it from my hubby in either the clothes dryer or in laundry cupboard (shhhhh don’t tell him) it’s guaranteed to disappear by the end of the night. Our biggest boy has inherited a love of chocolate from his dad. Any time he sees shiny foil wrapping he goes into a craze, repeating ‘Chocy Chocy Chocy‘. I think like most kiddies, chocolate is the BEST thing ever and the one thing they don’t get a huge amount of. So when they get a tiny piece it’s extra special. We all know it can send children a little crazy, so like most parents I limit the amount he gets to the smallest bit. With Easter around the corner I’ve been thinking. I don’t want to deprive him of the family Easter hunt and having a little. Though I wanted Easter to be a time not just for monstrous amounts chocolate.

Mummy’s tip of the day – The Easter Bunny visits our house and brings a little bit of chocolate for Zaci, a huge amount for my hubby (doesn’t take him long to eat it) and for the 3 boys new PJ’s and a little book each. It’s been a great way to ensure they won’t feel like they miss out though not send them into a crazy chocolate coma!

I know we all really need an extra day between Saturday and Sunday, nether less enjoy your Sunday with what ever you do ๐Ÿ™‚

Last Night Was Fun!

A night full of laughs…

I love catching up with my girlfriends. There’s laughs, lovely food and wine (or a little bit of vodka) of course ๐Ÿ˜‰

We are all busy women in our own ways. We don’t see each other all of the time though when we do it’s always a lot of fun.

I think it’s essential to keep in contact with your girlfriends and have time away from partners and children. You can be you, no nappy bags, no children hanging off you, best of all, continuous conversation. Just your time and a bit of fun out of the normal weekly grind. It’s very common to hear that time can be an issue. And yes I agree it can be. However my girlfriends and I plan ahead and lock in some dates on either a Friday/Saturday evening, a couple of months in advance. It’s great, when the date comes around we plan to go somewhere central, whether it’s dinner, movie or just a drink it’s always lovely!!

Mummy’s tip of the day – Plan ahead. Have a handful of catch up dates in the diary. It gives you something to look forward to.ย Anticipation is a key stage of happiness – Having something to look forward no matter what your circumstance, will bring happiness into your life. This is a fact.

Enjoy planing a few catch ups with your friends. Having that support network is essential for any mum. Time out of normal life and a few cheeky vinos…….bliss!!

‘It’s Mine’!!

In Zaci’s hand is one patent leather high heel ………apparently it belongs to him ๐Ÿ™‚

If I hear ‘It’s Mine’ one more time I going to loose my mind!

I’m going to enjoy my afternoon, because It’s Mine.  Enjoy your afternoon too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s Nearly That ‘Fun’ Time Guys….Dinner The Kiddies

I think we are all in the same boat….

IMG_5921

Mummy’s tip of the dayDistraction, Distraction, Distraction…..(I’m sorry, I wish I had more of a solution, we can all have sympathy for each other ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Nearly ever single time I feed Zaci I’m either dancing and singing or doing puzzles or something that takes the focus away from the food going in his mouth. He has good days and some real shockers. He isn’t fussy with what we give him, he’ll eat pretty much anything. However it’s getting him to sit and eat rather than play and run around, that’s the hard part. Dinner time can be a real pain in the butt!

Nearly hump day guys, have a good night!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I Don’t Like Bags…

Up late, Up early – Mummy Life..

There are certain tell signs when we are feeling tired. The eyes don’t lie! Mine certainly don’t lie, that’s for sure!

I think back to when my little boys (Twins, Gus and Ted) were in special care nursery. I was travelling to – fro the hospital for nearly 6 weeks. (They were born nearly 2 months premie) It was a very busy time. Trying to juggle Zaci, express during the night and driving 30 minutes either way to the hospital twice a day. I must say the time flew by.

I remember looking in the mirror as I was getting ready one morning and thinking to myself ‘Oh Geez, gotta do something with these eyes of mine’. I take my make-up off every night, though some how I had the worse ‘Panda Eyes’ going around! I scrambled in my drawer of creams and lotions and pulled out a little trial tube of eye cream. ‘SuperDefence‘ by Clinique.  I remember thinking……YES, this sounds like what I need, something Super!!!

Mummy’s tip of the day – Anyone who knows me, knows I love products and I’m a bit of a product junkie. The drawer I was talking about before is overflowing with lotions and potions that claim to combat and fix everything!! ๐Ÿ™‚ However this product is amazing and I’ve used it every day since. It’s an eye cream with a SPF 20, (I have never come across an eye cream with an SPF so perfect when outdoors with the kiddies) It’s very gentle and doesn’t sting the eyes at all!! It illuminates around the eyes and helps with fine line and wrinkles, most of all it helps with Mummy’s tired eyes. (My fav product for sure)

SuperDefence Eye Cream by Clinique Retails for $50 AUD

OK Monday let’s do this..
